Controllers for central heating boilers enable both the management of the heat generation process and its distribution over the heating system. Their main function is to select the individual parameters and enable economical combustion and at the same time provide users thermal comfort. Without boiler controllers, it's hard to imagine controlling heating in your home or building. Depending on the model, the boiler controllers can manage the boiler in a basic scope (e.g. simple controllers for solid fuel boilers controling only the pump and fan), as well as multi-functional boiler controllers, which allow you to control the temperature of your home even via the Internet .

Controllers for central heating boilers – principle of operation

All boiler controllers (regardless of whether they are controllers for fine coal, pellets or solid fuels, etc.) are able to control central heating pump and a fan. By increasing or decreasing the fan speed, a larger or smaller amount of air is supplied to the boiler, which affects the burning rate and the temperature. Temperature control is carried out by means of a controller that reads data from sensors. (boiler controllers cooperate also with room regulators).

Types of boiler controllers

Modern central heating thermostats offer different adjustment range depending on which heating device they work with. Among them are controllers for charging boilers, boilers with feeder, Pellet boilers or for wood gasification. Controllers that use the PID algorithm based on a complicated proportional-integral-differentiation rule are a popular solution. The purpose of the controller with the PID algorithm is to maintain the set point temperature at a certain level. The boiler controller ensures that the heating device always maintains the set temperature of the water supplying the heating system. By using the furnace controller, the fuel and air are dosed in the right proportions, and the combustion process itself is as clean as possible and occurs with high efficiency. The heating device working with the boiler controller works more economically, which translates into lower fuel consumption and greater savings.
